What’s New!

Just in time for Christmas, a new original song that describes Santa’s antics and momentary lapse of reason as he goes surfing when he should have been doing something else of much more importance! Performed by the Night Flight band with guest guitarist Gene Ford. A Christmas chuckle for you. Glad this got finished in time for the holidays.

Here’s my latest song,”Julia” about a guy who thought he was in a close relationship but is noticing some cracks in the armor and is not sure what direction they are headed. Features Bob Blair on a marvelous soulful sax solo. Recorded at Broken Record Studio annex in New Port Richey, FL. I’m very excited about this song, hope you like it!

In my spare time I’m working (slowly) on a ‘country album’ working title “Surfing Nebraska” and have only several songs ready to go including one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written but has not seen the light of day…We Ain’t That Old Yet.

Plus a song Night Flight played live many times, Jim Croce’s Roller Derby Queen. Roller Derby includes guest guitarist Gene Ford with some tasty slide work. Kevin Scott on drums and Bob Blair on sax. Brian on vocals and keys. All these great musicians are in Florida but we keep in touch and play together when we can. Enjoy!

These songs appear as bonus tracks on the !!ARRIVAL!! album on the home page also.

Here’s a number that will appear on my upcoming album “Surfing Nebraska” which will be a little on the country side. My interpretation of Tom Petty’s “Last Dance With Mary Jane” called “Pulled a Tom Petty.” More from “Surfing Nebraska” coming soon.

On the solo front, a collaboration with local Florida denizen Tampa Slim resulted in a new talking blues called “Quittin’ Time (Fool Got Lucky)” with lots of nice tinkly piano throughout a solid slow blues groove.
